Bonus Chakra (Poll Closed?86% in favor)

With the new bloodline system almost fully implemented, there comes the eternal debate: how to make the Chakra Pool better without using a level progression.

How, indeed? Bonus Chakra. Without making the chakra pool progression linear, I can instead add bonus chakra to advanced and prestige classes. Like so, for example.

Bonus Chakra: The Elementalist gains bonus chakra every level he takes in this class. The bonus chakra gained does not stack, simply use the value matching the Elementalist's level in the class on the table below.

Aye, this sounds like a fair thing.

Especially for the classes that require more chakra to do their work, the Hit Dice are generally on the lower side, and the Con score is generally of a bit less interest, so then you have a bit lower chakra, with less hp to convert (or converting havign a greater impact on your overall health).
So this bonus chakra should even out the effectiveness of some classes a little.

Hm... I don't know, i might prefer the simple way. It would be a lot easier to calculate CP when creating NPCs (A GM usually creates a dozen or more per game session/mission), IMHO. Because of that, i'll be voting for "no", for now.

EDIT:

Now, reading more carefully, i might be misunderstanding something:

- Is this bonus chakra in addition to the normal progression or in replacement to it?
- Would the Con/Wis score be relevant to this progression?

It's in addition, and no, ability scores would have no effects whatsoever on the new chakra bonus.

I thought someone had suggested by Class and you had said no. This might finally give a ninjutsu user more chakra than a Taijutsu user. But I don't like completely taking out ability scores factoring in. I'm going to say no.

Grah, you guys don't get it at all, do you?

The ability scores WOULD NOT AFFECT THE BONUS CHAKRA, but the STANDARD CHAKRA PROGRESSION would still be in effect.

Skies above, people. Read the post. This isn't going by Basic class. Like I said, this is ADVANCED CLASS and PRESTIGE CLASS only.

This is a class ability. An added benefit for taking a Caster-oriented class.

I get what Frankto's trying to say: think of the Bonus Chakra like some classes getting the Improved Chakra Pool feat in addition to their normal Chakra gain, only it scales with the class level progression. I agree with this, as some classes definitely use more Chakra than others and the ones that use the most Chakra also tend to be the ones that are also the least effective when not using it. What's a summoner going to do without Chakra compared to a Ninja Scout for example.

So before or without getting advanced classes, how would you calculate chakra if you do not use ability scores? Chakra = Level + 1?

Chakra progression is as normal. (Con +1) * (Level + 1).

Except some classes get bonus chakra on top of this.

So, reconsidering... I think that could be a fine idea. I can easily see Summoners, Genjutsu Adepts and Elementalists working well with the bonus chakra, but i'd suggest you to not adding too much chakra to Medical Specialists (They usually have a high wisdom + will over flesh, using a single ability score to chakra control and chakra).
