Haven't drawn in about 6 months, and personally Im not happy with myself with this image. :/ The hair is tooo DBZee style and not Naruto, some smudging from other people's nasty fingers on the blending. Would like to have made a clearer shot of the face, but couldn't pull it out due to eraser damage to the paper. The clouds are also far too pointy. BTW, this isn't a scan, it's a picture I took with my camera of the image and uploaded to the CPU... the paper was entirely too large for a scanner and I'm pretty sure the scanner i can use is garbage. Nonetheless, let me know what you think. This is the gist of what Kyashi looks like, though I've decided in my next picture I'm going to change his pants from the typical ninja Tabi pants, to sandles and cargo pants. The picture is set in darkness, if you couldn't pull that from the picture itself.

Here you go:

Picture number two is a bit more simple. The background isn't meant to be finished because it's an entire brick wall, and really who wants to draw a brick wall? Nonetheless I also left the headband blank, so it's not shaded either so look over that hehe. Let me hear it.

I was going to say its reminds of of Yuyu hakusho (SP?) I don't know, the bodies look stiff and bulky. I like the lighting though, assuming it's not camera glare. Wink

Thanks for your feedback, man. It's not camera glare. I usually concentrate pretty heavy on contrast for night sketch's... Thick and bulky? I'd like to know what you mean... if I'm correct then it's probably because in Naruto you're used to much thinner style anime. I have a hard time doing it like they do, but I'm continuing to practice. The piece of paper I sketched this on was gigantic btw. I'm working on another right now, same guy with a few minor changes... I really wish I could color them, but I can't... if anyone would like to color it feel free. I don't care. lol, umm... I need to work on contouring more too, many of my action lines are very very thick and shouldn't be... and my paper sucks! lol

Well, aside from what Shun said, I'd say you really just need to work on proportions.

LMAO, you're right about that. I was looking at it as I was finishing and was like..... hmmmmm.... If I were to stand kyashi straight up... he'd be taller than the adjacent building on his left and right.... DOH! Far too late at that point to worry aboutt he eraser damage so i just went with it... i'm going to go ahead and post the one i'm working on... just sucks i don't have a scanner and i'm takin' pics of these things, i have to make my lines superdark.

Agreed. Bulky not so much, I find that to be quite good.

But they seem stiff. It's like they've been told to stand still for a long time, or have been positioned like this, rather than it occuring from a natural movement/occasion.

This especially applies on the three kids in the foreground. Especially the right one seems...I dunno...off.

I have no idea on how to give any advice or whatever on how that could be fixed...

to me it seems you need to work on your body proportions, his feet and arms look "wonky".

wonky? lol, you guys and your terms... Please explain what that means... I'm used to drawing realism. What I'm determining right now is that my feet and hand work are a bit small compared to his arms and legs. His body is a bit too elongated in comparison, but the picture is about 8 heads tall so the proportion of his overall body is just about on. The right arm appears about right as far as the angle is concerned and the way the arm would contort in that angle... the left hand gave me absolute fits, and the left shoulder looks as if it were glued onto the picture. I can determine these things after I study it for a while and get past the enjoyment of completing a picture. The face is also given me fits since I'm deriving it from pen strokes, rather than pure shades as if you would when you sketched a real face...

Shun, when you say "proportions" what exactly are you refering to? Like the arm doesn't appear as if it's real enough, or the size of it? Maybe the different sections of the arms appear off?

I'm really practicing here, and in order to improve my skills I really need some feedback. I appreciate you guys even looking at them, I really do. Smile

The size and angling look off and you noticed the "wonky" feet and hands so I don't have to mention that. Wink

Well, his upper legs look to long and his lower legs seem short to me. Though it may just be the pants, the knees just seem to be too low.

Your backgrounds are amazing, defintely your strong point Twisted Evil

I dont really want to give negativity, but some of your body proportions are kinda off, like one leg is massive and the other skinny; the hands could use some work, but as someone who draws I know hands are a "see you next tuesday" to draw.

But yeah, backgrounds are incredible

This is a portrait of my group that I play NarutoD20 with. From left to right: Shisuin, a 12 Year old Fast Hero, in route to Ninja Scout. He's the goofball of our group. Kyashi, the Jounin Leader, he's a Smart hero/Shinobi Swordsman/Shade/Blinkstrike. The Little one in front is suppose to have a bears head on his head, looks like a pig but, his name is Botokin. A Sharingan user Charismatic hero/Genjutsu Master on his way to Shade. On the right is Yamashi, 14 year old Strong hero on his way to becoming a Ninja Operations Counter.

This is a portrait of a newer character we innovated into my game. His name is Hykuri. 16 year old Taijutsu Master.

This is Heinrich, in our campaign he's the lead villain who was a member of the old church. He is called a Judge, and was at one time the law of the land. Strong Hero/Taijutsu Master/Devestator

I was thoroughly impressed with myself after this image, but the quality was effected by the camera. It looks a bit blurry, try to overlook it a bit. His name is Cambridge. A pirate captain and bigtime outlaw in our campaign.

Again, the image is slightly blurred by the camera... Buuut. This is my favorite. It was my first attempt at a manga female. A 17 year old Smart hero/Charismatic/Medical Specialist. She is also Heinrich's daughter.

Enjoy!

All feedback is greatly appreciated.
