I was reading over the template for Hashirama cells and something odd stuck out to me, notably in how the Innate and Artificial templates differ. The Innate template notes that it is applied as follows:
As the ?Artificial? template, but include the following:
VITALITY OF THE FIRST HOKAGE (INNATE)
Hit Points: You gain +2 hit points per Hit Dice. At the GM?s discretion, this may include all your Hit Dice, even those you gained before you gained the Template ?Hashirama?s Cells?
Chakra: You count as two levels higher to determine the amount of bonus chakra you gain from levels. This does not increase any bonus chakra or reserves gained from class levels, only character levels.
My question is, does this imply that you gain these bonuses in addition to the Artificial templates version of the Vitality of the First Hokage, or are these bonuses intended to replace those. The abilities are near identical, except that one is better, but they do technically have different names and functions. Neither bonus ever explicitly states they don't stack, and the way it's worded seems to imply you are meant to be gaining something from the artificial template as well.
So far as I can tell there's no reason to include the text "As the 'Artificial' template" if the abilities do not stack, since all abilities granted by the artificial template have listed equivalents under the Innate template, except the Curse of the First's Cells, which is expressly removed by the innate template.
However this seems odd to me, so I wanted to ask what the intention was with this ability |
