I have come to enlist some aid in creating a Gundam D20, because I find the current gundam D20 to suck. The current one is not even based on the D20 system.

There already is a Gundam d20. It's called d20 Modern: Future and d20 Modern: Future Tech. Rules for both Asian themed mechs (Gundams, Angels, etc.) and American themed Mechs (Mech Warrior, Wanzers, etc.) right thar.

Of course, if you would be willing to explain a bit more in depth, I might be willing to throw a few ideas into the mix, since Shaman King d20 is on hold until I finish... acquiring... the series...

Oh, and yes, I did vote for the last option. Not because of this post, because this is actually a decent post. I'm just talking about all the other ones. Very Happy

Meh. It's kind of hard to tell. I've designed, redesigned, redesigned again, and will probably toss out those rules and redesign the rules for Spirit Allies one more time. Besides that, I have the basic concepts for Spirit Unity and Oversoul, but the problem is that there are hundreds of different oversouls and it seems that just after one set of rules for oversoul are established, a whole new set of rules comes out in the next issue/episode.

But, I do believe that I have the basic concepts that I am going to tweak for a while until everything works. But, again, after I watch all the episodes and download all the unreleased manga. (Since I haven't actually seen the entire thing. I know what happens, but I haven't seen it myself.)

I like the idea of doing Gundam but, you would likely be better off making a campaign setting mod for future. It's expansive enough that would basically only need to create a new parts list and options for the mechs that make them above normal mechs.

Kinda like the difference in power in the new armored core game. Since gundam involves a lot of flight and particularly heavily armored machines. So, your task list would be something like this if you went that way:

1. New parts that only work on Gundam class mechs including a special generator for the special armour they equip. Perhaps this generator with a certain frame is what classifies a mech as a Gundam unit.

2. Planets, Colonies and power groups.

3. New feats and likely a skill or two focused on Gundam particular combat. Maybe even an additional feat to operate a Gundam instead of a normal mech (Gundam Operation anyone?) since they are so different.

4. New race, applies when playing in the Seed timeline for those that are not normals. They would likely have all the benefits of normals and perhaps a boost to intelligence. Or perhaps you just take away humans normal benefit or extra feats and SP if the character is a normal.

Thats a few anyways. I'm interested but, I don't beleive going from scratch would be the best option, A mod of future seems best to me and most of my ideas will be along that line.

Plus I have every modern book you could need for it. future tech, weapons of mecha destruction, a bunch of future datastreams, starships and even the future players companion.

BTW, I voted option 4 because it was the funniest. But, my answer is yes. And yes I am abusing the vote system lol.

G Gundam was my favorite Alternate Universe gundam series.

But Gundam Wing was quite possibly the worst.

Right now me and my friend want to stat out some units pertaining to the One-Year War, and possibly some from 0083.

I must agree - Gundam Wing was the weakest of the Gundam series. I mean - the Gundams are just so freakish scary it's not even fun to watch. My favorite alternate universe has to be Gundam seed - though the Gundams were sweet - if outnumbered by enough they could be beaten back. I also like the fact that they have a reason that no one just nukes the other side.

The thing that bugs me about all of the gundam series is that frankly - single attack vehicles of that size simply aren't practical. In space - perhaps - but on Earth if there ever were mechas - they would be more like the size in Blue Gender or Ghost in the Shell.

That was the one thing I did like about G Gundam - they had a reason that they were created with so many resources in a single mecha. Each nation only got one - and they didn't have to deal with long range missiles and the like - only other Gundams.

Find their height and go by that for size. Basically if it is 20 metres tall, it will be colossal, and if less than that, gargantuan.

I agree, gargantuan for the small ones. Large isn't much taller than I am now and I think we can all agree they are quite tall.

Though I guess you could play with the scale and add more. Patterns easy to follow. It's just important to keep using it in case a gundam enters combat with dolls or fighter craft.

So yeah, im gonna play with the scale.
