I'm sorry for your lack of a gift. Quick question, why wasn't the bewitching eye added? _________________ http://svlogthir.mybrute.com

Merge the two Moujuu Aishou section, quote the animal entry of the MSRD, and put somewhere the size modifiers. It is really all over the place.... :/ _________________

Im fairly excited about the idea of the Squad Captain. Do you have any samplings of its abilities? _________________ "There are only two ways off this battlefield, friend. Unfortunately, leaving expired the moment you crossed paths with a Kirigakure shinobi."

so the squad captain is finished? mh...
where is the field officer broken? except for that "reputation bonus is too high"?
it feels as a waste of levels for me. the first level ability is fine, but then well you have to waste 6 more levels to gain ANOTHER different ability.
oh and for the defense bonus... if you have that, I'd rather like to see a plus +1 bonus for every adjacent ally, up to 1/2 his level.
It does make fucking more sense.
Oh, and yeah a preview would be nice. _________________

The Field Officer is broken where you can give your entire party a +35 bonus to Defense or Attack rolls.
But yes, the Squad Captain is finished. And I'm way, way ahead of you. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

Fine, here's a preview.
Hit Die
The Squad Captain gains 1d8 hit points per level. The Constitution modifier applies. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

Thank you, the class is sooo awesome.
edit: I was just thinking, well there is the empower mechanic, what about an enhancement mechanic. not all techniques do damage, and with spending more chakras you can enhance the effect of a technique or add a related bonus, like increasing the diplomacy/bluff... bonus of some genjutsu.
you can then grant there additional bonuses - in that skill techniques - through mastery, which would make the techniques seem far more dynamic. _________________

How will the Sword Savant be different from the Shinobi Swordsman?
Any chance we'll see some of the newer Shippudden stuff appearing e.g Sage mode/Natural Energy? or maybe a epic prestige class geared for Hokages....like a continuation of ninja scout and Ninja Operations Counter? |

I would think instead of focusing in one weapon (shinobi swordsman), the savant would be well-rounded in swords, but that is just my guess _________________ http://svlogthir.mybrute.com

The sword savant is a ninjutsu swordsman. I'm also not going to make classes pertinent to a single shinobi rank or position or village.
And for what I hope last time, Senjutsu chakra will not figure in the main file. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

Sword Savant's don't use hand seals while they have their swords in their hands. They also focus on more of a D&D Samurai skill weapon, to which they get bonuses utilizing. |

Ahh, so if I'm understandug this correctly then this class would be something that the Samurai of the Land of iron would have? Using their ninjutsu to create chakra blades and other sword-based ninjutsu? Channelling Chakra through blades etc?
As for not introducing senjutsu at the moment I can understand that, as it is quite not really accessable to most. I guess adding the option of natural energy would be quite difficult to intergrate into the current system anyway. |

No, Samurai from the Land of Iron would probably take the Samurai class. |

No, the Senjutsu option is quite easy to understand, adapt and employ. It will not figure in the main file because it's ridiculously powerful.
And shadow is entirely correct. Sword Savant has absolutely nothing to do with the Iron Samurai, not even a tiny bit. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

Has Senjutsu been released (No, I don't mean in the File)? or is it unfinished? or just been withheld? _________________ For Glory's Sake

If you can't find an accessible link on the site, then it's a safe bet that it has not.
No, Senjutsu is finished, but I am missing the cover. It'll be ready when it's ready. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

I assumed that they would be taking the Samurai class. I was wondering if this would be an attempt to more acurately capture the increasing chakra weapon channeling we are seeing (in which case this class might be a good addition to tha land of iron samurai)?
As for Senjutsu, is there no way of balancing the natural energy somehow....I'd be intersted in reviewing the rules maybe. It was stated that it was exceedingly hard to master and only characters with lots of chakra could manage it. Could be a cautionary Hijutsu like some of the other naruto techniques. |

It was an attempt to fulfill a request that I personally had for Frankto - to be more specific, the slot for Ninjutsu Swordsman. If you would like to contribute to the list, the thread is here: http://www.narutod20.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=38825#38825 |

Aha! Thankyou Cwakawasaki. So this should better reflect characters like Sasuke, Kisame, etc. Rather than having to switch between elementalist and shinobi swordsman each time.
I'm looking forward to seeing this now. Should help some of my characters builds. |

Sasuke and Kisame? No. It really, really doesn't -_-'
If anything, it reflects characters like that filler guy, Raiga. Or any one of the Goyousei from Samurai Deeper Kyo (and Kyo himself, to some extent). _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

Its about time that Raiga gets a little credit, lol. Even though he was a filler character, he had his merits. _________________ "There are only two ways off this battlefield, friend. Unfortunately, leaving expired the moment you crossed paths with a Kirigakure shinobi."

His merit being that the only reason he was successful was because of the whiny gimp he carried on his back. That and a squad of Genin took him out. That's what I give him credit for.
Now back to the main topic, I can say first hand that the Hostage Maneuver is an awesome addition to the game. That is, as long as you don't get hosed by dice bots. _________________ Be careful when you follow the masses, because sometimes the 'm' is silent. |
