Summon Level

When determining the saves of your summon's techniques, as well as I assume, what Rank techniques it can learn, do you use the number of Hit Dice it has, or it's summon level?

Additionally, how does the Ranks of your summon affect this?

Summons learning techniques is no different from characters, nor is using them.
So seeming a characters level/hit dice doesn't affect the DCs of techniques, why would it for summons.
As for learning the it would have to be their hit dice seeming the Advanced Ninjutsu Training feat says they can learn up to Rank 12 techniques, it would be impossible to do this if you had to use Summon Level.

As for how they learn techniques at all they have to take the various Ninjutsu Training feats.

For you last question, which I assume you mean the whole Guardian, Champion thing, I don't see any reason why they would have any affect on techniques apart from how it changes the summon itself.
