I don't know what Geoff would say, but I'd venture a:
Mahou-Tsukai. It's been used in quite a few anime, but I'm more than certain there's another name for it. |

Sennin (enlightened ones) were also called mages. Just something to note. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

I'll take this one for Geoff. There aren't many ways to go about this one, namely:
-buke
-bushi
-musha
-bushin (god of war)
-mushin (also god of war)
-buben
-bujin
-bufu
-bugeisha (master of arms)
-kenshi (fencer)
-heishi
-kishi (knight)
Add Ryuu or Tatsu to any of those suffixes. All of them mean warrior, soldier or samurai unless specified. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

I did a dictionary search but I'm not sure if Tsuiraku Itade is right...be it word order be it the simply meaning of it.
Thanks in advance for whomever answers it. |

Well here's a word for you... It's basically child speech. When two friends are mad at eachother they use a word to describe the fact that they aren't talking to eachother... Do you know it by any chance? |

I have a question... upon watching a few fighting anime, I've noticed that more than one refer to 'eight gates' within the body, and I was wondering if there was a historical reference to this, or perhaps we have some very alike-minded thoughts in Japan.... |

I don't know about "gates", but if I'm not mistaken there are 8 chakra points where your chakra concentrates and ebbs/flows. So that is probably where they got the "gates" idea. There are a few philosophies (or at least ways of thinking) that, if I'm not mistaken, concentrate on "opening" these points. |

Sorry for the slow answer busy with finals...
Don't know thw word the kids use...at least not by the description you gave me.
One possiblility for the eight gates is that it is related to the eight gates of buddhism. Reference it here.

I think it might be more related to the eight gates described in Taijiquan (which uses symbols similar to those of I Ching)
These are basically eight gates in your body that regulate the flow of yin and yang. Seems to me like this might be translated easily into chakra or energy or whatnot.
I don't know much more than this...but it's the thing I found that seems to fit in the best. |

Another question:
Is there a japanese version/word of/for 'the (or an) all-seeing eye' ?
If not, what would be a proper translation for an all-seeing eye?
Thanks in advance. (P.S. Googling didn't really turn to be a help for me on this one :p) _________________ Oy, this is going to be troublesome *sigh* |

Toushi (clairvoyance/x-ray vision) is probably close to what you're looking for. Took all of 3 minutes to find. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

isn't the "third eye" considered one of those "all-seeing eyes"?
If so, then look up that third eye point name (goes in hand with those 8 chakra points.) |

X-ray/clairvoyance isn't exactly what I'm looking for...I really do mean something as an 'all-seeing eye'...or something very similar...but thanks for the info. I'll go on that if there's nothing else to be found.
I'll check on that third eye thing. _________________ Oy, this is going to be troublesome *sigh* |

Shingan is literally "Mind Eye(ball)". I guess it can be read as Godface if you try really hard. _________________ "It's like making a cake, but instead of a cake it's a game and instead of frosting I have no life."

Athildur, I got one thing to say.... Byakugan.
That's closest to everyone's description of the all seeing eye. |

Hey Guys...
Sorry I have been gone for so long...
I had finals and then I went on vacation to Japan for a couple weeks... It was awesome but its nice to be back.
zekkou suru could mean any of the following depending on the kanji used
to do something perfectly
to become speechless
or to cause a breach (like a breach of decorum or a breach of a contract) _________________ Geoff "Yukirou" Beeson

actually desite the fact that it is pronounced "o" the correct romanization is "wo"
kaze wo noru - ride the wind
kazenori - winding riding
kaze de tobu - flying on the wind _________________ Geoff "Yukirou" Beeson
