I know this jutsu is kinda taboo.. but i want to share a story of an awsome battle i did during a casual epic campaign of naruto d20.
our group was on our way back from an S-rank mission, an assassination of a land of waves missing-nin, smthing like Cr 26... we are all between Cr 23 and Cr 28... i am 28... i know the level gap is kinda extreme but thats not the point... upon ariving in the leaf village we find that it is under attack by sand ninjas, who in our campaign world had grown deep resentment of our slow takover of their village's operations... the campaign world sets naruto uzumaki as the hokage, an old man... clearly outnumbered and outmached i decide its time to show the party the new jutsu i picked up w/ an epic feat, and a lot of training... edo tensei... we succeed in capturing 3 low level sand ninjas and i take them into a shelter where i begin the jutsu... the other party members are busy protecting key structures and buildings in the city. (ie. water supply, food storage, power, prison) so i am free w/ these 3 lower level (12-14 if i remember) chuunins from the sand village whom i offer as sacrifices to complete the jutsu... i reserect the bodies of none other than the 3 sannins... which causes my gm to flip... lol... we get into a long argument of the use of this jutsu,,, which he allowed me to take, so i won. after that little discussion i begin to order them to decimate the sand ninja... after the battle i do not know what to do with the 3 saninns, so i elect to abandon the near destroyed village and attack other hidden villages, due to the great strength and power of our 3 new slaves... midway into a raikage assasination "mission" the rest of my party turns on me and i am forced to use the saninns on them as well as attack them myself... they loose... GM= pissed, other players = frustrated me= content... i know the jutsu if OP... but seriously it was the most awesome thing ever to have those characters under my complete control. |

Bah... a wise GM would stop you with one sentence:

Hastur: If Naruto is an old man, the sannin are dead .
As for the campaign goings on: I'd simply make the raikage a super-dude, give him some bad-assed guards and, while we're at it, an excorcist of legend who happened to hear of the goings-on...and excorcise the three sannin back to where they came from. _________________ Oy, this is going to be troublesome *sigh* |

in all honesty, sannin aren't all that hard to beat if you play smart.
If your gm was smart he could of easily exploited your weaknesses. |

Or wondered how your character who I assume is somewhat loyal to your village and friends considered it ok to begin destroying life with no provacation and when your close friends said it was a bad idea decided it was ok to eliminate them as well.
By that level one would figure some sense of friendship would have developed.
I'm sure you had fun, thats fine but, from what I understand you basically killed the game for the others playing with you. _________________ Beneath the beam that blocked the sky.

Ah missed that part due to badly-formatted first post (Though in Orochimaru's cease the "dead from old age" reason is questionable ) _________________ Three are the paths of soul:

Unless Naruto took care of them. Of course Naruto most likely ended Orochimaru first. Either way somethings gonna kill them off eventually.
I just re-read the technique, how did you get your hands on the soil the sannin were buried under? Assuming they were buried. Your GM could have just said they all died in other places or were cremated. I assume you were within the level range but, you also appear to require the coffins, a cup of pure water and a healthy plant before you can begin.
We can assume when Oro used this jutsu he had all this prepared ahead of time and just did a standard summoning technique to bring them when he needed them since it says if the user is within two miles of the creature and it's coffin it can be summoned as a move action. But, you still need to prepare them ahead of time. _________________ Beneath the beam that blocked the sky.

What chapter are we on? I left off awhile back when Shipuuden came on and didn't totally suck. Then again, they are doing that 3 episode combat thing again. _________________ Beneath the beam that blocked the sky.

Athildur: 0_o Oh. I made the assumption that when you said "200+" that you meant you were 200 chapters behind. Well, you know what they say about assuming... |

Nice... thanks for telling me...
And for the question about them being dead its the GM who decides he could have them alive in his world or somthing doesnt matter if naruto is old. |

i did have it prepared ahead of time... i casually asked the Gm one day when i was around 19th lvl where the sannins where burried and he said that all of the (including orochimaru) were burried next to eachother in konoha, depsite orochimaru's evil ways, he was still an excelent shinobi and hokage naruto saw to it that he was burried w/ the others. (in my campaign orochi was killed by naruto in the past) while it wasnt a move action my teammates did not think to ask what i was doing, considering the fact that i was the highest level player in the party and am ninjutsu oriented... trust me i did this legally. it jsut took like 3 months to finally pull off |

Ah, works for me lol. My party likes to try to sneak things past me so, I am suspicious of players at times. They had their chance of object to your doing things, didn't sound like they tried to stop you by asking either.
Nice timing on the jutsu! _________________ Beneath the beam that blocked the sky.

it sounds like your GM was a little out of it. He flipped out when you summoned the sannin but he had to know that you went and got the soil from the graves, he had to know that you bought 3 gold coffins. If you had all of this than i think it would be noticible. And you should have tried to summon the third and fourth kage instead cause they are SO good. _________________ Death is the high price of living |

I could be mistaken, but the fourth Hokage could not be successfuly summoned by Orochimaru for some reason (The use of Shiki Fuujin, maybe?), so i guess his character would not be able as well. |

The fourth could not be summoned cause the Sandaime Hokage sealed the upcoming coffin. It was going to be summoned. _________________ Oden! Guide our ships, our axes, spears and swords! Guide us through storms that whip and in brutal war!

*cough* Correct me if I'm wrong but I was always under impression that it wasn't ever revealed what was in the sealed coffin. _________________ Three are the paths of soul:

Yea it was never actually shown anywhere. Leading a bunch of speculation on why they specifically did not bring back the one who sealed the Kyuubi. _________________ Beneath the beam that blocked the sky.

the third coffin wasnt summoned because it couldnt make it past all the shadow shurries (i believe). But it makes the most sense that it was going to be the fourth hokage. Who else would be summoned... and who would scare the third that much. It is all speculation but it seems reasonable
watch it turn out that the last coffin had some crappy chuunin in it and the fourth is alive in some way _________________ Death is the high price of living |

I was trying to find it but for some reason my discs are a mess @_@
